Obtaining Portuguese Nationality, becoming a EU citizen.


Under Portuguese Nationality Law, a person born in a foreign country has the right to obtain  Portuguese nationality, if that person:


  1. Is a son/daughter of a Portuguese national;
  2. It is a grandson/granddaughter of a Portuguese national, and demonstrates sufficient knowledge of the language and demonstrates regular contacts with Portugueses territory;
  3. Has been married to a Portuguese national for over three years; or has been living in union de facto for more than three years with a Portuguese citizen and has taken any a legal action to recognize this union
  4. Has been legally resident  in  the Portuguese territory for at least six years and has  sufficient knowledge of the Portuguese language;
  5. You are of legal age (over 18 years) and are a descendant of Sephardic Jews and belong to a Sephardic community of Portuguese origin.
